08:29 am: Stuff
So I got to drive Patty's car yesterday to Riley's Game of Thrones game, on the other side of Indy... I've got to say, that its fantastic to be able to drive a car that actually works again. Not having to break 3 miles down the road from a stoplight, and being able to use turn signals. Good stuff! Speaking of which, I dont even think I could list everything that is wrong with my car... but I can try! This isnt a rant, by any means. Just an amazing list:

- Breaks that only work when I use both feet and stand on the pedal
- Leaking break line. Refilled twice a month.
- Steering that croans and creaks no matter how much power steering fluid I use.
- Power windows that dont roll down.
- R-12 air conditioner that doesnt work, and they dont even make/repair/recharge anymore.
- Right turn signal doesnt work.
- Left turn signal works, but you have to turn it off manually after completing a turn.
- Headlights that are held in place with fishing line and wire.
- A front view of the headlights that looks like this: (.#####O)
- Smashed in hood that is tied down with 3 ropes and the best boyscout knots I've ever seen.
- The engine likes to rattle the spark wires loose, causing the car to sputter and miss-out.
- Because of the previous, I have to put the car in neutral and rev the gas ever-so-slightly when idling at a stoplight. Otherwise the car will die.
- Absolutely nothing to listen to while driving. (My CD player was stolen).
- Car rarely starts when it rains.
- Main exhaust pipe that is literally held together with spit and glue.
- Muffler that looks like swiss cheese.
- The inner door handles, the ones that are used to pull the door shut while inside, cannot be fully attached and come apart when you pull on them. Both doors.
- Both door panels are comming apart, and the rubber/foam that protects the window while rolled down is dragging along the ground. Good thing the windows dont come down...

Anyway, that was fun... I'm sure there are more that I cant think of right now. Time for stuff and things.

Peace out!

07:09 pm: The start of a new life...
Cripes. I've forgotten all about this stupid LiveJournal thing. I guess maybe its time to put something interesting in here. For the most part, my every day-to-day life is boring as all hell.. Soooo, there really hasnt been much to write home about until recently. I'll save the big news for last, as I'm sure most of you have already heard about it already...

I quit my job at Advance America. My last day was yesterday (Friday the 10th). I worked my full 2 week notice even though I really REALLY didnt want to. It was really kinda sad. I got hugs from at least 5 of my customers and 2 boxes of girlscout cookies from another. They were sad to see me leave. I didnt think that I was really all that nice to them (>,<). I start my new job at American Document Management on Monday, working in the Coding Department. Seems like I traded one desk job for another. But this one doesnt have any customers. Woot. No customers.

I started building my LeetBox uber-gaming PC. Instead of trying to save a bunch of money and buy it all at once, I've just been buying a piece at a time, with each paycheck I get. So far, I've got the case, power supply, and motherboard. I still have quite a ways to go, but when I'm finished its gonna be so much better than the piece of crap I put together 6 years ago. I just hope by the time I crank it off the assembly line, it wont be too far outdated. Technology sucks. I picked up RF Online yesterday. Some cool-looking, but mixed-reviewed Sci-Fi Fantasy MMORPG... Then realized that it requires a DVD Rom drive to play. Doh! Dumbass.

Last but not least, Patty and I are gett'n MARRIED!... There's a shocker. I mean, who'd'a thunk it? Everyone on my list is also on Patty's list... I think. So therefore, most of you already know. We're shooting for 2007's Fall season.

More World of Warcraft, until my DVD-Rom drive gets here. Why doesnt UPS deliver on Saturday?... "What can Brown do for you?" they ask.... BAH!

FACT:
You embody the German principle of Konstantzusammenschaft, which is best described in English (without using the obscure English word "sammenschaft") as "eternal togethermanship".
The Loverboy
Random Gentle Love Master (RGLMm)

Well-liked. Well-established. You are The Loverboy. Loverboys thrive in committed, steady relationships--as opposed to, say, Playboys, who want sex without too much attachment.

You've had many relationships and nearly all of them have been successful. You're a nice guy, you know the ropes, and even if you can be a little hasty with decisions, most girls think of you as a total catch. Your hastiness comes off as spontaneity most of the time anyhow, making you especially popular in your circle of friends, too.

Your exact opposite:
The Billy Goat

Deliberate Brutal Sex Dreamer
You know not to make the typical Loverboy mistake of choosing someone who appreciates your good humor and popularity, but who offers nothing in return. You belong with someone outgoing, independent, and creative. Otherwise, you'll get bored. And then instead of surprising her with flowers or a practical joke, you'll surprise her by leaving.

Alright. Look here, all you assholes (Riley) who like to ruin perfectly good songs... I had to look these lyrics up in 3 different locations, because I didnt believe what the ACTUAL words were. They sound nothing like what is being sang.... sung? Singed? Sungified?...

DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'
(Perry, Schon, Cain)
From The Album: ESCAPE (1981)
Release Date: October 1981
Top 40: Entered on November 11 and Peaked at #9

Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill,
everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

(chorus)

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlight people

Wtf? Living just to find emotion?! That cant be right either... Well it sure as hell aint "Heaven is a funky moosehead"... Dick =p

01:34 pm: Update time!
Christ on a cracker, Batman... Its been nearly two months since I've updated this over rated, highly addictive (to some) piece of webtrash. Sooo, lemme see... I'm on my lunch break, so I dont have much time.

I've moved to Indianapolis. I guess thats the big thing to mention. Patty and I live in a teeeeeeny apartment near Speedway. The place isnt bad, but its quite cluttered. There just isnt enough room to store all of our junk. We've got crap piled up and leaning over like a really bad game of Jenga. I'm still working for Advance America. I transfered to a store that is extremely close to my new apartment. Convenient, no? Its kinda cool that I can come home on my lunch break because I live 5 minutes away... [rant] I really dont think I'm going to last long at this place, even though I got promoted to Assistant Manager... The girl I work with is nice, but she is a Jesus Freak in every sense of the word. Now, I'm not bashing you Christians, or anything.... erh... ok, yeah I am. You people scare me. This lady has signs posted in the office that read "God is Good All of the Time" and "Think Highly of Yourself. Not Because of You, but Christ in You. You're a Child of the King!".... ... what kind of lame bullshit is that? On top of it, we're listening to Christian Rock all damn day. Ok, If you want to be religious, fine. All the more power to you. Personal beliefes are just that. Personal. Keep them to yourself. Work is not the place to be bringing your Choir robe and belting out the Amens left and right. [/rant]

Anyway. Thats really about it. Cant wait for Steelio's B5 game to start up. I'm gonna have to watch the series again just to remember some of the stuff that has happened...

Peace out people. Back to work.

07:49 pm: Whoa....
For those of you who are smart and can read, you need to read The Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Do it. It has been decreed by the Matt that this series shall be read by all. I started reading it maybe a year ago or so, but put it down to pick up the ramblings of New Jedi Order. But after picking these books back up and reading through them again..... is just mindblowing. There is really no other term for it. George R.R. Martin rawks. Just do it.

Book 1 - A Game of Thrones
Book 2 - A Clash of Kings
Book 3 - A Storm of Swords
Book 4 - A Feast for Crows (released sometime this August)

I usually dont read that much, but these are the only books that I've read that I've not been able to put down.

Its an entirely new sound for these guys and I dont really know if its any better than their old style, but it still rawks! 12:40 pm: Squandered Hopes
Well... Yesterday I decided it was time to grow some balls and do something about my vehicle situation. So, after spending a couple months looking around, I found -THE- truck I wanted, reasonably cheap. I called the dealership, which was in Bluffton, IN, just south of Fort Wayne and set up an appointment to take a look/test drive. He faxed me a finance application so He could have things ready to go when I got there today on my day off. But, to no avail, big suprise: my credit sux ballz. Next option would be to go to my bank and take out a loan. Sure no problem. I've had 2 previous loans with them that were promptly paid off. And they tell me the same thing, "Sir, I'm sorry, but your credit sux ballz." Whelp. There goes that idea. So much for trying to do things by myself. I didnt want any help doing this, but it looks like I'm going to have to have a co-signer. I called my mom. She was willing to help! Sweet. She doesnt have any bad credit, and only a little bit of good credit. Damn, it wasnt enough to help. I called my dad, but he was already co-signed on another loan. He couldnt help. At this point, I was about ready to give up. At first, I didnt want anyone's help, then all of a sudden I was looking for the closest relative with good credit to help me... Doesnt make a lot of sense. Somehow I think the excitement of joining civilization overwhelmed pride and I was trying to do whatever I could, to get a vehicle that wasnt 20 years old (like all of my previous cars)... I should've stopped there. The principle of the whole situation, was to 1) get a vehicle that functioned normally, without having to fix every time I climbed into it through the window. And 2) to prove to my overprotective family that I could do this without their help... The fact is: I cant. And I'm sort of glad that I wasnt able to.. I'd rather find out now rather than after I've purchased the truck and dug a financial hole for myself. But, I made one last attempt at a co-signer before giving up completely. My grandparents would do anything they could for me. Except this. At first, they agreed to it. Then, after thinking about it a little more, they came to the conclusion that I wouldn't be able to juggle my current finances as well as an increase in insurance. It hurt... I mean, hardly anyone in my family has confidence in me. They're always looking down at me telling me that I cant do this, or cant do that. And I wanted more than anything to prove to them that I CAN do it... but by this time it was already too late. I had realized that I couldnt handle the cost of a new vehicle and even though I had given up hope on trying to get a loan, I still was forced to sit through multiple lectures and harsh realizations. For christ sake, I'm 22 years old. I feel helpless... I cant do anything without the help of family, and I cant break free without their help.
But anyway. Its probably a good thing that they wouldnt co-sign for the loan... I realize that now. I wouldnt be able to swing all the new costs that came with owning a new vehicle. I'll look into it later, I suppose. When I have a better paying job. =)
But hey, at least my current crap-mobile got a full interior cleanout. I had expected to trade it in. Hehe.

06:26 pm: I'm not dead yet!
But damn near... Man, I haven't updated this thing in a while. I dont have much time to spare, but I can jot a few things down. I've got Steele's IK game in about 20 minutes. Thats always some fun times.

So, my job... What to say, what to say... Well, the job itself is pretty cool. Not hard at all. The envrionment is very sedated from what I'm used to. However, my -co-worker- (I refuse to call him my boss) is starting to case a few problems. This guy isnt doing his job. At all... Not even in the least bit. He spends hours on the phone talking to his girlfriend and buddies from Florida and god knows whoever else while I'm trying to help a line of 3+ customers. And thats just -one- of the things he does that bothers me. I'll go into further detail when I have more time.

A few weeks ago I got into a 5-car accident on SR 26/Creasy Ln. My car got tore up pretty bad, but its still drivable. The girl I rear-ended was driving a super-huge SUV, so I didnt do much damage to her. The person who caused the accident didnt get hit, and didnt bother to stop... Fucker. Oh well, its just a good thing that no one was seriously injured. I'm mulling over the idea of getting a new vehicle, even though I cant really afford it at the moment. I've always been stuck with some piece of junk car that I have to repair on a weekly basis just to keep it going down the road. Im getting sick of it. Its about time that I throw down some cash and invest in a REAL automobile, rather than something that will only last me about a year. I know exactly what I want to buy... but I cant find any in town. Closest one is southwest of Chicago. I'll have to take a roadtrip one day that I'm off to go look at it.

Crap. Gotta go, gonna be late.

Maybe now I will have some money to pay for cool stuff like bills and food. Yay food! =p... Now the only problem with this job, is that I have to wear a tie. It doesnt bother me, except that I only have 2 good ties. I'll need to buy more. Lots more. Oh well, not a big problem. =) Off I go to finish painting this fig, then to bed. I suppose its time to update this thing again. I havent been paying much attention to Live Journal recently. *shrug*... Anyway where whould I start.

.... Ah yes. About a week ago (on Dec 9th), Patty ([info]prettymartin) and I celebrated our first year anniversary marker. Also the marker of the longest running relationship we've both ever had. Yay. One down, fifty-nine to go. Since we are both poor as all hell, we didnt do anything. Just stayed home. I bought her some flowers and a card, and I let her open a Christmas gift early. Fun times.
I'm still unemployed thanks to Lafayette's lack of job opportunities. Although, the search seems to be comming to an end. I had a few interviews with Best Buy. What a joke. I applied for a computer tech, interviewed for a dockworker, and they offered me a marketing position. What the fuck? Hanging signs and changing displays for a max of 2 hours per day? No thanks, assholes. I make more sitting at home collecting unemployment. My hate for Best Buy continues to bristle.
My friend Riley ([info]hahahello) got me an interview for the company he works for, Advance America. Its like a small loan, or pay-day loan office. Full time, benifits, desirable pay, the works. My second interview for this position is tomorrow, so hopefully that goes well...
I still havent had my unemployment hearing... Dumb shits at the Work One office here in Lafayette have now pushed my hearing back TWICE. Both times, without notifying me. So, I show up in my pretty clothes at 8 in the frigg'n morning for a hearing... And they tell me to turn around and go home because the hearing was postponed... GAH! This has happened TWICE! Thanks for the phonecall, douche. You people have every other piece of information known about me, dont tell me you dont have my phonenumber... Grrhh...

So yeah, all kinds of happy stuff to put in my live journal update. =) Time to go. Iron Kingdoms tonight with the boys.

I would've bought it somewhere else, but its going to be such a high-in-demand game that I might not be able to get it anywhere else, because of my resevation I've had on it for like a year.) Then, tomorrow night (Tuesday) I think Bryan Steele, Brian Martin, and possibly Stormtooper Greg Edwards is comming over for some Halo 2 LAN party action. That is, if I can convince my friend Rhett to come as well, and supply us with another XBOX. Yay... Halo2. Fun. Time to go!
